I've been captivated by sunsets for as long as I can remember. No matter where I am, I find myself pausing when the sky begins to change—watching familiar colors give way to unexpected ones as day quietly surrenders to night. Each sunset feels unique, reminding me that even endings can be filled with warmth, beauty, and possibility.
Atardecer, the Spanish word for "sunset," is inspired by those fleeting moments of transition. The textured forms suggest a landscape shaped less by geography than by memory, while the warm palette echoes the glow that lingers just before the sun disappears below the horizon.
Some of my favorite sunsets have been shared with the people I love. There is something deeply comforting about standing together in silence, letting the changing light slow the pace of the day. This painting is an invitation to pause in that same spirit—to embrace the quiet, appreciate the beauty of the present moment, and remember that every ending carries the promise of a new beginning.
